
About Andrew
Andrew Yang has established himself as one of the most engaging and proficient teaching personalities in Vancouver’s pedagogy circles. His students are prize winners in various international youth competitions, including appearances in New York’s Carnegie Hall. In addition, his students are frequent trophy and prize recipients in local festivals and competitions.
Andrew is a RCM Certified Teacher, holding specialist designations in Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced, and Theory. His studio holds bi-annual formal student concerts, including multiple senior home recitals and fundraisers for local charities.
He studied extensively under Anna Domanska, a former professor at the prestigious Chopin University in Warsaw. From her tutelage, Andrew became one of the young leading interpreters of Chopin’s works. He was invited to play a solo concert in the Young Talent Series with the Vancouver Chopin Society and also performed for the Alberta Chopin Society as an appreciation to their sponsors. He was asked to perform as the lead in to Rafal Blechacz recital in Edmonton as part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of Chopin’s birth.
Currently, Andrew resides in Vancouver, Canada, teaching both piano and theory in a thriving studio. He enjoys collaborating and performing chamber music with professional musicians and guiding amateur instrumentalists. In his downtime, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing badminton.
